Behaviour Matters

Child Services (ages 4-12)

Group Programs & Workshops:

Group programs offered at Behaviour Matters incorporate the well-established, evidence-based curriculums of Social Thinking and Zones of Regulation. Groups are supervised by a Registered Social Worker.

Sessions include cooperative activities and games, role-playing, discussions, expressive art activities, and home assignments.

Children begin in Tier 1 of our group programs and graduate to Tier 2 by registering in one of our many follow up options. Tier 2 groups build on and strengthen previously learned skills, as well as introduce more advanced material.

Individual Counselling Sessions

Individual therapy (sometimes called “psychotherapy” or “counseling”) is a process through which clients work one-on-one with a trained therapist in a safe, caring, and confidential environment. Clients will explore their feelings, beliefs, or behaviors, work through challenging or influential memories, identify aspects of their lives that they would like to change, better understand themselves and others, set personal goals, and work toward desired change.

Sessions are held in office; if coming into the office is difficult, we provide Skype and phone options for your convenience.

Family Counselling Sessions

Family Therapy is a process through which family members, couples, and others who care about each other work with a trained therapist in a safe, caring, and confidential environment. Clients are able to express and explore difficult thoughts and emotions safely, to understand each other’s experiences and views, to appreciate each other’s needs, to build on strengths and to make useful changes in their relationships and their lives.

Sessions are held in office; if coming into the office is difficult, we provide Skype and phone options for your convenience.
