Individual therapy (sometimes called “psychotherapy” or “counseling”) is a process through which children work one-on-one with a trained therapist in a safe, caring, and interactive environment. Children will explore and learn about their feelings, beliefs, and/or behaviours, work through challenges they face or influential memories and experiences, learn to identify problems and opportunities for growth and strategy use, better understand themselves and others, work towards therapeutic goals, desired changes and overall happiness and success.
Sessions are held in office or virtually; if coming into the office is difficult or if you’d prefer online options, we provide Skype, Zoom and phone options for your convenience.
An intake session is the first step in the process, the initial intake can be done with just the parent/guardian, both parent/guardian and the child or with just the child. This decision is dependant on the family’s preference and age of the child. Contact us today to book.
